Chips, Snack & Nut Packing Machines
Chips, puffed snacks, peanuts, seeds and candy are light and irregular, so they are weighed by a multihead weigher. For pillow bags the HY-520A system (10-head weigher, Z elevator, 520 mm VFFS) packs 10–50 bags per minute; for stand-up zipper pouches the rotary multihead line; and the ZJ-1200 delta robot puts finished pouches into cases.

What to watch out for
Breakage
Use a Z elevator and set low drop heights so chips are not crushed.
Shelf life
Nitrogen flushing replaces oxygen in chip bags and keeps them crisp.
Sticky candy
Sugar-coated products need a weigher with dimpled or Teflon-coated hoppers.
