Packaging Machine Installation, Maintenance and Service Life
Installing a packing machine takes five steps: prepare the site (power, compressed air, floor and ceiling height), position and level the machine, connect power and air, run it empty, then run it with product and fine-tune. Its service life then depends mostly on maintenance — cleaning, checking seal jaws and heaters, and replacing wear parts on schedule.

What must be ready before the machine arrives?
- Power supply matching the nameplate (for example 220 V single phase or 380 V three phase)
- Compressed air where required — 0.3 m³/min on our VFFS, 0.6 m³/min on rotary pouch machines
- Level floor and enough ceiling height for weighers on platforms
- Film or pouches and product for the first run
The five installation steps
- 1. Unpack and position the machine; level it
- 2. Connect power and air; check rotation directions
- 3. Load film or pouches; run empty to check sealing and cutting
- 4. Run with product; set fill weight, temperatures and speed
- 5. Save the recipe and train operators
Which wear parts should I keep in stock?
- Seal jaws and heating elements
- Cutting knives
- Film pulling belts
- Temperature sensors
- Suction cups (pouch machines)
What maintenance keeps it running?
| When | Task |
|---|---|
| Daily | Clean product-contact parts and seal jaws; check air pressure |
| Weekly | Check belts, knives and suction cups; tighten loose fittings |
| Monthly | Lubricate per manual; check electrical connections and sensors |
| Per batch change | Clean hopper and auger or weigher to avoid cross-contamination |
Frequently asked questions
Do you send engineers to install?
Most of our machines are installed by the customer with our video guidance and English manual. Engineer visits can be arranged; travel costs are quoted separately.
